Located in the heart of the Atlantic Forest, one of the most biodiverse tropical forests in the world, these locations offer a unique experience of contact with the rich fauna and flora of Brazil.
This birdwatching expedition in these cities offers a unique opportunity to get in touch with nature and enjoy the stunning landscapes of the remaining Atlantic Forest. Itinerary
Day 1 - Depart from São Paulo Airport or hotel. You will be met by our staff and transferred to Intervales State Park. The lodge is located inside the park.
Day 2 - Full day of bird watching and overnight at Intervales State Park.
Day 3 - Full day of bird watching and overnight at Intervales State Park.
Day 4 - After an early breakfast, you will head to Tapiraí, a private reserve of about 80 ha. The lodge offers a great experience in terms of observing and photographing the most beautiful birds of the Atlantic Forest. Easy trails in the forest with open and closed vegetation. Several bird feeders attract a large number of species. From a hide it is possible to observe and photograph terrestrial species.
Day 5 - Full day of bird watching and overnight at accommodation in Tapiraí SP.
Day 6 - After breakfast, transfer to Peruíbe, located in the Peruíbe SP, a paradise composed of a mosaic of different ecosystems. In Guaraú, there are around 320 species of birds: 30 endemic to Brazil and 11 endangered. The Mochileiros lodge has a rustic infrastructure and a garden with bird feeders where you can photograph many species.
Day 7 - Full day birdwatching and overnight in Peruíbe.
Day 8 - Morning birdwatching in Peruíbe and transfer to São Paulo airport according to your flight time.

Tour Extension 1: Southern Muriqui
One-day extension for observing the southern muriqui, one of the most endangered and fascinating primate species in the world, with an estimated population of about 1,000 individuals. The conservation status is CR = Critically Endangered. The distribution area of this magnificent primate is highly restricted, primarily located in the Atlantic Forest in the state of São Paulo. With a preference for high-altitude areas, the southern muriqui is often spotted in mountainous forests at over 300 meters above sea level. During this extension of the tour, participants will have the unique opportunity to observe and document these incredible primates in their natural habitat, exploring a protected forest specifically dedicated to the preservation of the southern muriqui. Additionally, visitors will have the chance to visit a conservation center and participate in a reintroduction program, contributing to efforts aimed at increasing the population of these endangered animals.
Tour Extension 2: Scarlet Ibis
Extension of the 1-day tour for Scarlet Ibis bird watching, one of the most impressive and threatened birds on the planet, with an estimated population of about 5,000 individuals. The conservation status is considered VU = Vulnerable. The Scarlet Ibis is known for its vibrant plumage in shades of red and orange, making it a true jewel of the Brazilian fauna.The chosen region for observing these birds, concentrated in mangroves and estuaries along the Atlantic coast, stands out as a vital ecosystem for the survival of the Scarlet Ibis. Besides providing a conducive environment for feeding, these areas also play a crucial role in the reproduction and protection of the birds against predators.During this extension, participants will have the unique opportunity to observe and photograph these stunning birds in their natural habitat.
